Ethos

/ˈiːθɒs/ noun

Wikipedia Definition: is a Greek word meaning "character" that is used to describe the guiding beliefs or ideals that characterise a community, nation, or ideology. In modern usage, ethos denotes the disposition, character, or fundamental values peculiar to a specific person, people, corporation, culture, or movement.

Simplicity and transparency from the start. The Private Equiti model is centred around delivering investment performance, not funds under management.

OUR INNOVATION ETHOS

Our ENGAGEMENT follows three strategies which simply put:

  1. PROTECT what you have, EXTEND your reach, INNOVATE to survive (3 Horizon Thinking);

  2. How do we DESIGN for the end user (Design Thinking);

  3. Break everything down to it’s SIMPLISTIC CORE and rethink its DESIGN or EXECUTION from scratch and ask “Can we do it differently, cheaper and better?” (First Principles)

3 Horizon Innovation Thinking

The idea that anyone in business (including not for profit or government) serious about sustainable growth, resilience and longevity of their business need to execute existing business models while simultaneously creating new capabilities. The three horizons as articulated by Baghai, Coley, and White in 2000, in The Alchemy of Growth, are summarised as follows:

  • Horizon 1 ideas provide continuous innovation to a company’s existing business model and core capabilities in the short-term.

  • Horizon 2 ideas extend a company’s existing business model and core capabilities to new customers, markets, or targets.

  • Horizon 3 is the creation of new capabilities and new business to take advantage of or respond to disruptive opportunities or to counter disruption.

Design Thinking

Design thinking encompasses a range of processes such as problem finding, contextual analysis, ideation, resolution, creative thinking, modelling, prototyping, testing and evaluation. Simply put, how do we encourage our focus on the people we’re creating for?

First Principles

first principle is a basic assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption. Over two thousand years ago, Aristotle defined a first principle as “the first basis from which a thing is known.” (“The Metaphysics,” Aristotle, 1013a14–15). Simply put, break the product or service down to it’s core ingredients, rethink from scratch and ask “Can we do it differently, cheaper and better?”
